ARK 2 Story Plot
There was a great war that ravaged the skies of Earth, destroying the planet that humanity lived and depended on. In order to survive, humans were sent to the mysterious and distant planet of Arat, where the remaining refugees may hope to thrive and survive. However, not only Earth’s humans were sent, but unexpectedly, Earth’s extinct species from a bygone prehistoric era. They have grown and multiplied to alarming proportions, and now wildly rule Arat as its feral masters. The flora and fauna throughout Arat can be deceptively hostile, and thus the remaining humans continue to band together to survive against the wildlife.
You find yourself mysteriously awake in the world of Arat, where you will meet a tribe led by Santiago. Follow and team up with Santiago, played by the action movie star Vin Diesel, as he gives his all to protect his daughter Meeka, played by Disney star Auli’i Cravalho, against the forces of mother nature and hostile native tribes called the Aratai. Tame the wildlife, weather the storms, craft your tools, and survive.
However, not everything is as it seems, as you’re soon to discover a cave filled with modern technology that Santiago seems to have knowledge about. Will you uncover the secrets of his tribe leader, or will you blindly follow him to battle?
ARK 2 Gameplay
Not much footage has been shown of ARK 2s gameplay, but it will be an open-world action adventure sandbox survival box similar to the previous ARK games. It will have a riveting narrative starring the aforementioned Vin Diesel and Auli’i Cravalho, taking place in an ultra lush world with ultra-high and realistic graphical fidelity courtesy of the Unreal Engine 5.
To fully explore the wonderful world of ARK 2, it will have several traversal mechanics such as mantling, free-climbing, free-running, sliding, and swinging. To complement movement, its combat will be soulslike, where blocking, dodging, staggering, and parrying will all be implemented to incorporate a high skill ceiling.
As is the staple with open-world survival games, ARK 2 will have heavy emphasis on its component-based crafting, where any item can be combined with another to result in all sorts of new items and gear! Of course, last but not least, you will be able to skill-up your character in order to gain more knowledge and unlock new abilities and perks that will give various benefits to your survival!

The second trailer is narrated by Meeka, the daughter and character of Auli’i Cravalho, as she details the history of how humans came to Arat, and their mission of survival and preservation through taming the feral prehistoric beasts that roam the world.
Announcement Teaser Trailer
The announcement teaser trailer is an entire in-engine cinematic, starring Vin Diesel as Santiago as he leads a tribe of humans to survive a hostile Aratai and T-rex attack. They are saved when they manage to outrun the dinosaur and hide within a cave, filled with mysterious symbols and hi-tech gadgets that Santiago seems to be aware of and can utilize flawlessly.
