ARK 2 Overview
ARK 2 is an upcoming third-person open-world survival game by Studio Wildcard and Grove Street Games originally slated for release in late 2024 on PC via Steam and Xbox Series X|S, but has since been delayed to an indefinite release date.
As the direct sequel to the acclaimed ARK: Survival Evolved, this installment builds on its unique blend of prehistoric and futuristic elements, setting its story in the prehistoric alien world of Arat.
Departing from the first game's first-person survival sandbox mechanics, ARK 2 introduces a dedicated third-person, soulslike gameplay experience, featuring new characters, a more defined narrative, expanded building and crafting mechanics, advanced traversal mechanics, and dynamic world events.

ARK 2 Gameplay
ARK 2 offers an open-world action-adventure sandbox survival experience, building on the core mechanics of its predecessors while introducing new features. Set in a visually stunning and ultra-detailed world powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game also incorporates a compelling narrative led by Vin Diesel and Auli’i Cravalho.
Exploration in ARK 2 is enhanced by diverse traversal mechanics, including mantling, free-climbing, free-running, sliding, and swinging, allowing players to navigate the lush environment with fluidity. Combat adopts a soulslike approach, emphasizing precision and skill through mechanics such as blocking, dodging, staggering, and parrying.
