Valorant Release Date and Time
Valorant was released for Windows on June 2, 2020, via Riot Games’ proprietary launcher and the Epic Games Store. In June 2024, the game expanded to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. However, cross-play between the console and PC versions has not yet been implemented.

Is Valorant on Xbox Game Pass?
Yes. Valorant is currently available on the Xbox Game Pass. Although the game is free-to-play and doesn’t require an Xbox Game Pass subscription to enable online play, purchasing the Xbox Game Pass gains the player access to exclusive in-game cosmetics.
Is Valorant on PS Plus?
No. Although Valorant is currently available on PlayStation, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required for online play.
Is Valorant on Nintendo Online?
No. Valorant has not been released on the Nintendo Switch and isn’t available on Nintendo Online.

Closed Beta Launched on April 2020
Riot announced the closed beta for Valorant, set to begin on April 7, 2020. The beta was initially available in limited regions, including North America and Europe, with access granted through Twitch drops.
Officially Announced on March 2020
Riot officially announced Valorant with its title and first gameplay trailer. The announcement emphasized its competitive focus, combining tactical gameplay similar to Counter-Strike with unique hero abilities reminiscent of Overwatch.
