Overwatch 2’s early access period started on October 4, 2022, featuring new maps, heroes like Sojourn and Junker Queen, and a Battle Pass system. The PvE content, initially a major selling point, was announced to be delayed.
First Announced During Blizzcon 2019
Overwatch 2 was officially unveiled at BlizzCon 2019 on November 1, 2019, showcasing Blizzard's bold new vision for the franchise. The reveal promised story-driven PvE missions, fresh heroes and maps, and a game-changing shift to a 5v5 PvP format.
