Nintendo Direct June 2024
Nintendo finally showcased an announcement trailer for Metroid Prime 4, now title Metroid Prime 4: Beyond showcasing new gameplay footage trailer and a release date slated sometime around 2025.
Development Now Under Retro Studios
In January 2019, Shinya Takahashi, the general manager of Nintendo EPD, announced that development of Metroid Prime 4 had been restarted now under Retro Studios instead of Bandai Namco, with Kensuke Tanabe returning. This decision was made after the previous studio did not meet Nintendo's standards.
E3 2017
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was first announced on June 14, 2017, during E3 2017. At the time, it was revealed to be in development under the name Metroid Prime 4.
