Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Overview
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the fourth main entry in the Metroid Prime series, an upcoming first-person action-adventure game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo. Scheduled for release in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch, details about the game's story remain limited. However, it is confirmed that players will once again step into the role of Samus Aran, the legendary bounty hunter, as she embarks on a new mission in this iconic franchise.
The game's antagonist appears to be Sylux, a mysterious figure previously featured in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Sylux is seen leading a group of Space Pirates in a raid on a Galactic Federation research facility, accompanied by two docile Metroids known as Mochtroids.
Classic gameplay mechanics make their return, including Samus' versatile arm cannon, missile launcher, and her iconic morph ball, which allows her to traverse tight spaces. Her scan visor, essential for analyzing the environment and displaying health and material information, is also back, alongside the powerful Charge Beam. Additionally, Samus' signature gunship is featured prominently in the beginning.

Familiar weapons, such as the arm cannon and missiles, were showcased in the announcement trailer, hinting at their return. However, it remains uncertain if other elements of Samus' arsenal, including the Varia Suit or additional upgrades, will appear in this installment.
Characters
Samus
Samus Aran is the iconic protagonist of the Metroid series and one of the most renowned bounty hunters in the galaxy. She was adopted and raised by the Chozo, an advanced bird-like race, who trained her to become a warrior. Later, she joined the Galactic Federation Police before leaving to pursue a career as a bounty hunter.
Samus is highly skilled and equipped with her advanced cybernetic Power Suit, which features an array of abilities such as the Arm Cannon and Morph Ball. Her impressive achievements include eradicating the Metroid species and dismantling the Space Pirate base, cementing her reputation as a legendary hunter.
Beneath her suit, Samus is a 6'3" blonde woman known for her bravery, determination, and reserved demeanor. In Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, she embarks on a new mission, seemingly facing off against the enigmatic bounty hunter Sylux.
Sylux
Sylux is a formidable bounty hunter harboring a deep-seated hatred for Samus Aran due to her ties with the Galactic Federation. While much about him and his role in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond remains shrouded in mystery, the announcement trailer revealed key details. Sylux is shown wielding his signature weapon, the Shock Coil, and wearing his distinctive armor. The trailer also depicts him leading a faction of Space Pirates in a raid on a Galactic Federation Research Facility, hinting at his pivotal role in the game's story.
