During the FF15 Uncovered event where they revealed information about the game, they announced that the game was officially launching on September 30, 2016.

Final Fantasy 15 was first revealed during the E3 conference in June of 2013, where it was the result of the renaming/rebranding of the long-awaited Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
