Slay the Princess has been delayed for a few days, and will now release on October 23, 2023 at 10:00am (EDT). This is coming off the announcement from the developers' X (formerly Twitter), where they describe complications with the platform Steam with regards to the game's final build.
Slay the Princess was originally slated to release on October 20, 2023 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. A demo is currently available for download and to play on Steam and GOG.

Slay the Princess, a new visual novel by Black Tabby Games, transforms the age-old trope of saving the damsel in distress. Instead of having to defeat a great evil to save the princess, the princess herself is the villain. With a fully-voiced narrative and great hand-penciled art, Slay the Princess looks to be a thrilling psychological horror experience.
Slay the Princess Story Plot
The story revolves around a princess shackled in a basement under a cabin in the middle of the woods. The player is tasked with slaying her, as keeping her alive would mean the end of the world… or so the narrator says. The princess objects to being slain, but shows hints of being more than an innocent princess waiting to be saved.
Slay the Princess Gameplay
Slay the Princess is a visual novel with simple point-and-click gameplay. The narrator will present action and dialogue choices you must choose between that will influence different branching storylines.
Slay the Princess Pre-Orders
Slay the Princess currently can only be wishlisted on Steam. Announcements of pre-orders or early access have not been made so far. The game will be available to purchase for $17.99. Slay the Princess will be playable on PC from Steam or GOG, but it is currently unknown if the game will be released on other platforms.
