Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Demo Availability
Live On Steam, Console Release Later Today
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties has launched a free demo on PC via Steam, with publisher Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirming that console versions will follow later today. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 will become available at 9:00 PM PT.
The Yakuza Kiwami 3 demo places players in Ryukyu, Okinawa, as Kazuma Kiryu, engaging in fights while dynamically switching between Kiryu’s Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami style and the more weapon-focused Ryukyu style. Beyond combat, the demo also highlights the series’ side experiences such as karaoke, substories, and outfit customization.
Meanwhile, the Dark Ties portion shifts the focus to the game’s main antagonist, Yoshitaka Mine, where it explores his life leading up to becoming the ruthless chairman of the Hakuho Clan. It offers a preview of the game’s entirely new storyline set in Kamurocho, while emphasizing Mine’s distinct shoot-boxing combat, which sets his gameplay apart from Kiryu’s style.

Progress made in the demo will not carry over to the full game. Instead, the demo functions as a standalone preview, giving players a hands-on look at both Kiryu’s and Mine’s gameplay ahead of the full release.
The demo’s release follows an earlier announcement confirming that Yakuza 3 Remastered will be delisted as a standalone purchase after Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties releases next month. New players will have to purchase it through the Yakuza Complete Series bundle, which includes all seven games from the series, from Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut through Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is set to release on February 12 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
