WWE 2K26 Monday Night War edition has been announced, reliving the classic WWE vs. WCW brand wars. Find out when to pre-order this edition of the game and what fans predict will be featured based on the teasers so far.
WWE 2K26 Monday Night War Edition Announced
Pre-Orders Start on January 30
WWE 2K26 will feature a Monday Night War edition celebrating the classic brand rivalry between WWE and WCW. On January 25, WWE revealed on Twitter (X) that pre-orders for this edition will begin on January 30, 2026.
The cover for the Monday Night War edition headlines superstars from WWE and WCW. For WWE’s side, it includes Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Triple H, Kurt Angle, and Chyna. Meanwhile, WCW’s side has Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Goldberg, Booker T, and Eric Bischoff.

This new edition follows WWE and 2K Games' January 24 announcement that WWE 2K26 will have an Attitude Era edition that highlights the hardcore, in-your-face saga of the wrestling promotion in the 90s.
This edition’s cover showcases a plethora of superstars from that generation, including Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Kane, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, and The Dudley Boyz. Some of the most iconic women from that period are also featured, such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Chyna, and Stephanie McMahon.
Showcase Mode Speculations

As with the yearly release of WWE 2K games, each title brings in a new superstar, faction, or era to highlight in its Showcase Mode. Although unconfirmed, fans are confident that this year’s Showcase Mode will relive some of the most epic moments of the Attitude Era and Monday Night Wars, given that these are the deluxe editions of the game.
Since the era in question is controversial due to its mature content, many are wondering to what extent it would be included in the game. Moreover, some staple superstars from that period are no longer associated with WWE, which further escalates the discussion on how much of the Attitude Era will be featured.

Aside from wrestlers, fans are already trying to predict which matches will be in Showcase Mode, especially considering the Attitude Era has produced so many legendary rivalries and showdowns.
Most are basing their speculations on the trailer, which features matches such as Stone Cold vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14, The Undertaker vs. Mankind at King of the Ring ‘98, and more. The teaser also included clips of moments outside of matches, which begs the question of how 2K Games will relive these iconic segments, since previous Showcase modes only included matchups.
Superstars Predict Cover Star

While the Attitude Era and Monday Night War edition of the game has intrigued the community, WWE and 2K Games have yet to reveal the main cover of WWE 2K26. In a series of Twitter (X) posts last week, WWE asked the wrestlers who they think will be on this year’s cover.
Superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT have laid out their WWE 2K26 cover star predictions across three brand-specific videos. Popular picks include Jey Uso, LA Knight, Stephanie Vaquer, and fan-favorite CM Punk.
NXT Superstars Semi-Confirmed
Following the release of the prediction videos, certain new superstars have appeared in those, leading fans to believe they will be included in the game. These wrestlers are mostly from NXT, which is WWE’s developmental brand.
The latest videos offered a glimpse of Blake Monroe, Myles Borne, Ricky Saints, and Zaria, causing fans to predict that these superstars will make their WWE 2K debut. Many fans hope these superstars will be included in the base roster rather than as DLC, especially since they have been mainstays on television over the past year.
With the January 30 pre-order date and WWE’s Royal Rumble fast approaching, fans expect to know more information about this year’s WWE 2K title.
