Get The Game Files Ahead Of Time
Update 6:00 AM EDT, May 21, 2024: Wuthering Waves' dedicated PC client is now available to download normally on their official website. Players who opt to use the installer from Kuro Game's website but have already pre-downloaded the files through the installer from Google Play can skip the following one. This can be done by specifying the folder Google Play's installer stored the files in on the official launcher when prompted.
While the pre-download window for Wuthering Waves' game data should have been made available starting 6:00 AM EDT, players soon found out they could download the files beforehand thanks to Google Play as far as 6 hours prior. Doing so allowed them to get the roughly 20GBs of data ahead of time and obtain Wuthering Waves' dedicated PC client before it's even available at the Epic Games Store or its own website.
This can be done by going to Google Play's PC website and logging in with their Google account. Once they have done this, they can head over to the Wuthering Waves store page, and the PC client download will be available to them.
Installing does not seem to create any problematic errors, as opening the client will land you on a window reminiscent of Punishing Gray Raven PC's launcher. From there, players can download just under 19GB of game data, which can be assumed to be part of the pre-load package that would have been available to them later on.
Taking a step further, players can also launch the game and download about 800MB more to fully prepare themselves for Wuthering Waves' launch date. Despite this event, the game servers are, indeed, still closed.
It is not known if this was intentional on Kuro Game's part or if it was just on Google Play. We also can't speak with certainty that this roughly 20GB of data is all of it. But, for now, players at least have an official channel that provides the PC clients to them.
