Former Employee's LinkedIn Post Reveals Company Closure
While no official announcement has been made by Tencent, reports on the closure surfaced when the studio's official website and LinkedIn page became inaccessible via a LinkedIn post by an alleged former employee.
The former employee's post read, "Team Kaiju doesn't appear to exist anymore. No announcement from Tencent. Most of the folks there were amazing. I wish them the best for the future."
Likewise, in the original post, the former employee said his time at Team Kaiju was "interesting", in response to a comment saying that "[It] Must have been a stressful 6 months."
Tencent Files for "TEAM JADE" Trademark After Shutting Down Team Kaiju
Video game researcher Kurakasis shared additional details in a post on Twitter (X), revealing that a LinkedIn post surfaced right before Tencent filed for the trademark 'TEAM JADE' in Europe.
Team Kaiju, founded by Scott Warner and Rosi Zagorcheva, was reported to have been working on an AAA multiplayer game. Zagorcheva departed from the studio in April 2022, followed by Warner, the former Halo 4 design director, in April this year.
