Ayaneo Next Lite
Starts at 299 USD
The handheld device was officially revealed on their website and is going to have a starting price of $299. According to them, the Next Lite is a "value-for-money" product that inherits the "high-end design and texture of the flagship AYANEO NEXT" so that they could provide users more players with a "smooth gaming experiences."
The Next Lite aims to promote the widespread adoption of advanced features found in high-end flagship devices while being affordable for more consumers. As such the device operates on HoloISO, a customized version of Valve's official SteamOS. The unofficial OS was described was said attempt to "bring the Steam Deck's SteamOS Holo redistribution into a generic, installable format, and provide a close-to-official SteamOS experience."
Steam Deck Comparison
The Next Lite boasts some specs that least compete with the Steam Deck, featuring a seven-inch 800p screen, a 15AMD processor, and a 47Wh battery—comparable to the battery size of the $549 Steam Deck OLED model and superior to the $256 model.
However, in terms of graphics, the Steam Deck outshines the Next Lite, given that the latter utilizes either an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U or Ryzen 7 4800U, both of which are four-year-old processors and cannot match the superior graphics of the RDNA2 of the Steam Deck.
Ayaneo Next Lite Features
The Next Lite is equipped with Hall-sensing big joysticks, offering an extended range of motion. It features a dual copper heat pipe cooling system, which enhances heat dissipation and contributes to a smoother gaming experience.
