Stardew Valley fans who love to cook are in for a treat as the official Stardew Valley Cookbook, written by Ed “ConcernedApe” Barone and Ryan Novak, was released last week. Previously announced last year in ConcernedApe’s developer blog, this immersive cookbook takes you around Pelican Town through over fifty recipes straight from the beloved game.

It features bright photos of the recipes, appearances from the Stardew Valley characters themselves, and adorable illustrations. Following the overall theme of the game, the cookbook is organized into four seasons and is pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan-friendly. Each recipe also has a unique write-up by either the Pelican Town residents or the renowned Queen of Sauce. The cookbook, available in hardcover or ebook, is up for purchase on Penguin Random House’s official site, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other major retailers. Sample recipes for Lucky Lunch, Strange Bun, and Seafoam Pudding are also released as a sneak peek.

So far, it’s been receiving nothing but glowing reviews across the board. Excited fans have taken to Twitter (X) to show off their shiny new cookbook, pages colored in soft hues and cute Junimos. They praised its aesthetic visuals and how elaborate it was in both art and recipes. Fans who have already whipped up their own Stardew Valley creations have applauded its well-developed and delicious recipes, which cater to both bakers and chefs alike. Even those who aren’t as skilled in the kitchen are inspired to give it another go with the cookbook.

Barone says in his 2023 blog post, "One of the things that I’ve always been happy about, is when Stardew Valley acts as a focal point for people to bond over, develop friendships, and find inspiration in their everyday lives. What better way to achieve that than to bring Stardew Valley to life in your very own kitchen? I’m really looking forward to seeing the dishes people will cook!"

The original Stardew Valley game surely delivered fun times and smiles to all fans, and this time its official cookbook will bring that experience into the comfort of one’s own kitchen.
