    Potentially Uses Blockchain Technology

Earlier yesterday, Soulja Boy posted a 22-second teaser of his video game that’s "coming soon." The post contained the hashtag #web3, which is the term used to denote blockchain technologies, such as NFTs or cryptocurencies, likely denoting that the game utilizes such technology, though there hasn't been any confirmation. The tweet features footage of his character walking for six seconds before standing still for three seconds. After that, the character seemed to levitate for about six more seconds before it started to make linear movements going resting midair until the clip ended.

There were coins floating around, too. None of them were claimed, though, so we can only make conjectures about whether or not a score system exists.

This wasn’t enough to impress many of the people on Twitter, as the quote replies were filled with responses that varied between mild annoyance, amused sarcasm, to sheer disbelief.

Later on, Soulja Boy posted another teaser on his Twitter (X) account, this time with the game set underwater. The gameplay is a 35-second exploration of the area.

On the other side of the aisle, it does look like there are some people who are legitimately excited about this in a more honest and positive way. However, they are vastly outnumbered by users who are simply making fun of the whole situation.

The dissenters’ opinion is understandable. After all, Soulja Boy had the whole controversy about selling his own consoles several years ago, which supposedly had pre-installed games in it that reached triple digits (four for the handheld version).

The doubts surrounding it were justified as it was later discovered that the consoles were simply rebranded and resold at a markup. Furthermore, they were likely sourced from Alibaba, meaning that the consoles were essentially Chinese emulators.

The previous case made it easy to realize why most people are apprehensive about his ventures into the gaming world. The fact that his teaser also comes with crypto hashtags really doesn’t help, either, as quite a lot of gamers are vocal about their distaste regarding blockchain reaching into games.
