Chances of Ash and Pikachu Returning to the Anime
"Anything is Possible," Says Pokemon Exec
Variety recently conducted an interview with executives from The Pokémon Company International, including Andy Gose, Senior Director of Media Production, and Taito Okiura, Vice President of Marketing.
When questioned about the potential return of Ash, Gose acknowledged that while Ash and Pikachu bid farewell in Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, "Anything is possible." He emphasized that "In the world of Pokémon, there's so many possibilities." Okiura added that Ash and Pikachu are continuing their journey somewhere in the Pokémon world, leaving their fate "totally up to our fans' imagination."
Okiura emphasized that, for now, Pokémon Horizons will center around the "grand adventure" of Liko and Roy. He described Horizons as an invitation to a "new beginning."
They're just testing to see how well these two new protags do and compare the numbers with Ash and will go with whichever numbers are higher
