Niantic has revealed the dates and locations for Pokémon GO Fest 2025. Read on to learn more about this upcoming event, as well as the only two additional events scheduled to launch this January.
Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Dates and Locations Announced
Launching in June 2025
Niantic finally announced the dates and locations of the Pokemon GO Fest for 2025 on January 6, 2025. This three-day event will happen across three cities on different dates. Here is the rundown of the location and dates:
⚫︎ Osaka, Japan: May 29 - June 1
⚫︎ Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6 - June 8
⚫︎ Paris, France: June 13 - June 15
The developers also mentioned that more details about the event will be revealed this coming March. They also reminded Pokemon GO players that "upcoming events are subject to change," but we will keep you updated if there will be any changes for this event.
Annual Global Event for Pokemon GO Players
Pokemon GO Fest is a global event where trainers around the world gain access to exclusive items, gameplay, and bonuses. Players can also participate in in-person events, which are hosted in different cities globally. Both require purchasing a ticket, and in-person events have unique features as they travel around a hosting city.
The highlight of Pokemon Go Fest is the appearance of rare Pokemon that can’t be obtained through normal gameplay. For instance, the 2024 event debuted Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Additionally, certain Pokemon will have a high likelihood of being Shiny, spread across different parts of a hosting city depending on their habitats.
For players attending the in-person event, there are also exclusive merchandise, habitat-themed sets, and community hubs to commemorate the event. There are also team lounges where trainers can meet and greet their fellow members.
Though details about the upcoming Pokemon GO Fest are still under wraps, this will be more or less similar to the previous event.
Two More Pokemon Events For January Announced
Aside from announcing when and where of Pokemon GO Fest 2025, Niantic also revealed two new upcoming events. These are the Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day events.
For the Fashion Week: Taken Over, players can obtain Shadow Palkia by rescuing it from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. Shroodle and Grafaiai will also debut in this event, and players can obtain this Pokemon by hatching 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokemon will also appear, like Snivy, Tepig, and others. Players might also encounter a Croagunk wearing a fashion week costume when taking a snapshot.
On Shadow Raid Day, trainers can obtain Shadow Ho-Oh by participating in Five-Star Shadow Raids. Purchasing the $5 USD ticket will also award trainers with eight additional Raid Passes, an increased chance to get Rare Candy XL, 2x Stardust, and 50% more XP gain from Raid Battles. Aside from an increased chance of encountering Shiny Ho-Oh, lucky players who obtained this legendary Pokemon can teach it its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
