Microsoft announced in a blog post this week that January has become the biggest month ever for the Xbox console, attributing the record-breaking milestone to the popularity of various titles, most notably Palworld. "2024 got off to a fast start with players this year — Xbox had its biggest month ever on console this past January, measured by play time (including ID@Xbox program member Pocket Pair, whose Xbox Game Preview title, Palworld, has more than 10,000,000 players on Xbox so far!)," announced Xbox.

The creature-catcher survival shooter game emerged as a standout title within the Xbox gaming community and became a great success after its inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Palworld's rapid ascent to popularity has turned it into the biggest third-party launch on Xbox Game Pass ever, as well as the most-played third-party day-one release via cloud gaming with Game Pass Ultimate.

In a statement provided to Xbox Wire, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from fans."This is just the beginning for us and Palworld, and the feedback we’re gathering while in Game Preview will allow us to continue to improve the experience for Pal Tamers across all platforms."
