WB's free-to-play platform fighter, Multiversus, broke another hundred thousand concurrent users (CCU) on Steam yet again, just shortly after launching on May 28, hosting 14,515 players. This launch figure, however, is slightly lower than its all-time peak of 153,044 concurrent players during its open beta in 2022.

When MultiVersus' open beta began in 2022, many assumed the game would remain available through its 1.0 release, similar to other early access games. However, developer Player First Games took MultiVersus offline last year to prepare for the launch. The Warner Bros. platform fighter shattered records during its beta phase, with over 10 million players recorded. On Steam, the game reached over 150,000 concurrent players, surpassing every other fighting game on the platform.

This launch day surge was likely fueled by trailers for highly anticipated characters such as The Joker, The Matrix's Agent Smith, and a surprise entry, Jason from the Friday the 13th franchise. MultiVersus stands out in the fighting genre with its focus on 2v2 or tag combat. The game remains free to play and has generated significant hype. Its overall Steam rating currently sits at 85% Positive, while we gave the game a solid 80/100.
