Vote For Your Favorite Monster
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter, and they’re inviting fans to vote for their favorite monsters for the Hunter’s Choice Top Monster. The franchise has stood the test of time and has actually lasted long enough to amass a total of 229 different Large Monsters in its historic catalog. This number, however, does not count the other Small Monsters found in the series, like Aptonoth, Kelbi, and the like. Series mainstays like the Rathalos that appear in every game to obscure choices like the Dire Miralis or Lao-Shan Lung, who can only be known to fans who have played the older games, can be chosen for the popularity vote. Other variant monsters are also included in the list, such as Primordial Malzeno, Ruiner Nergigante, and even the Crimson Fatalis.
The top three monsters that win the popularity vote will have the dev team create a commemorative illustration featuring all three monsters. In return for participating, voters will be able to download a brand-new special wallpaper that includes ALL 229 monsters. It’s crazy to see how they were able to fit all of them together, and you may have to zoom in a bit to find some of them. The voting period will last from November 21, 2023, to December 20, 2023 2:59 UTC. You can find the website here and vote for your favorite monster.
Fan Reactions
Fans were quick to share and vote for their favorite monsters, with some choosing the comedic choice of voting for Qurupeco, King Shakalaka, and even the Vespoid Queen. While some fans chose monsters, that reminded them of why they love the franchise. For 20 years, Capcom has graced us with amazing games with spectacular monster designs, and the list will only get bigger from here on. Monster Hunter has become one of Capcom’s flagship franchises, and fans are excited and waiting for their next mainline release.
