Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Unveils “Survive” Gameplay Trailer
New Gameplay Footage, Cutscenes, and Potential Boss Fights
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is just one month out, and Nintendo is kicking the hype thrusters into overdrive. The legendary bounty hunter’s intergalactic comeback got another boost today thanks to the newest trailer, aptly titled "Survive," dropped on Nintendo of America’s official YouTube channel.
The trailer features snippets from previous gameplay and announcement trailers revealed leading up to the game’s year-end release, as well as a few never-before-seen sequences from the game’s cutscenes, gameplay sections, and even a classic anime reference for eagle-eyed fans.

Among these highlights are gorgeous first-person shots of Samus exploring diverse biomes across the cosmos, including the already-revealed planet Viewros, a frigid Hoth-style tundra in the middle of a blizzard, jagged and towering alien structures, and a molten hellscape straight out of Mustafar.
Samus also flaunts some signature tech along the way. While the iconic Morph Ball gets a quieter spotlight this time, having been the center of attention in previous trailers, Samus’ beloved Grapple Beam was given a chance to shine for a few moments. We were also fortunate enough to get a new look at her sleek motorcycle in a few traversal shots across desert landscapes, complete with the instantly recognizable Akira slide.
Built for the Nintendo Switch 2

The "Survive" trailer also doubled as a first in-depth look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond’s Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Players on Nintendo’s newest hardware will be able to download the upgraded version directly or purchase a dedicated upgrade pack for $9.99 if they already own the classic Nintendo Switch edition in digital or physical form.
As was showcased by the trailer’s sweeping landscape shots and fast-paced first-person gameplay, the Switch 2 Edition delivers enhanced resolution, improved framerate, and faster load times compared to the original release. It also reintroduces pointer-style aiming using the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, echoing the motion-control setup from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on the Nintendo Wii.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is coming to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
