⚫︎ Mecha Break has released its first major balance update following a rocky launch in early July. The patch introduces new pilot Lu Hui and his custom striker, Stellaris MK-III, which remains untouched in this round of changes. Meanwhile, 12 other strikers received adjustments, with Hurricane emerging as the biggest winner—its damage has been significantly increased, and its Decoy Drone ability now includes a stun effect.

⚫︎ Mecha BREAK introduced its latest pilot, Lu Hui (Subject 014), in a new trailer released on July 25, 2025. Described as a brilliant mind with a sharp wit and strong sense of justice, Lu Hui is set to bring both brains and heart to the battlefield as the game’s roster continues to expand.

⚫︎ Following criticism over monetization, Mecha Break’s first patch will make its most common currency easier to earn. Amazing Seasun Games says it’s prioritizing fixes after a mixed Steam reception, with complaints focused on pricey bundles and pay-to-win concerns. The update promises a quick turnaround and more improvements ahead.

⚫︎ Despite a mixed Steam rating due to pricey microtransactions, Mecha Break has seen a strong launch with over 130,000 players and daily peaks around 70,000. While criticism over $57 skin packs persists, developer Amazing Seasun Games remains optimistic.
In an interview with Game Spark (via Automaton), lead developer Kris Kwok hinted at future plans for the IP beyond gaming. “The birth of a child is just the beginning,” Kwok said, expressing his ambition to expand Mecha Break into other media, including anime and manga.

⚫︎ Mecha Break has officially launched on PC and Xbox, drawing a strong debut with a peak of 132,816 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB. However, the game's user reviews have dropped to Mixed
due to backlash over its aggressive monetization strategy.
Players have criticized the inclusion of $47 cosmetic skin packs and a gameplay-affecting auction house system, with some accusing the game of bordering on pay-to-win mechanics. Additionally, cosmetics available for free during earlier betas are now locked behind in-game currency, requiring either significant grinding or real-money purchases.
March 27
⚫︎ Following the conclusion of its open beta on March 16, Mecha BREAK may make all starting mechs freely available, according to feedback received during testing. The multiplayer mech title, which peaked at over 300,000 players and now ranks as the 5th most wishlisted game on Steam, has prompted developer Amazing Seasun to consider adjustments to Break Striker availability and module usage in 3v3 and 6v6 modes. While no decisions have been finalized, the studio reaffirmed its commitment to a live service model for the game’s launch.

⚫︎ The Mecha BREAK Global Storm Open Beta officially concluded on March 16, 2025, at 8:59 AM PT, with all account data now cleared. Developer Amazing Seasun Games expressed gratitude for the community’s support and positive feedback, emphasizing that player input will shape future updates.
