Marvel’s Wolverine has been confirmed to share the same universe as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 by Bryan Intihar, the director of Spider-Man 2. Read on to know more about this interesting little piece of information about the upcoming game.

New Wolverine Game to Take Place in Earth 1048
Bryan Intihar confirmed in an interview with entertainment company Kinda Funny that the two games will, in fact, take place in the same in-game universe known as Earth 1048.
Earth-1048 serves as the backdrop for a plethora of Marvel video games developed by Insomniac Games. This universe encompasses acclaimed titles like Marvel's Spider-Man, its spin-off Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Earth 1048 has been further expanded in other media, such as movies and comic books.
When asked whether or not Insomniac’s spin on Wolverine will share the same Earth as Spider-Man 2, Intihar stated, “They're all 1048,” signifying that both Spider-Man and Wolverine exist within the expansive universe of Earth 1048.
Though the games share the same universe, Insomniac is dead set on centering the game around its heroic protagonist. Intihar said that the decision to include so little of Wolverine in Spider-Man 2 was to let the game itself and its characters and premise breathe. “(Our) focus is to get Spider-Man off the ground and let the team make the game they want to make.”
A notable nod to Wolverine in Spider-Man 2 comes in the form of Miles (or rather a suit, really), who can be seen wearing a Wolverine-themed suit, aptly named the “Best There Is,” obtainable as a level unlock in the game.
Marvel’s Wolverine is a standalone game directed by Insomniac’s own Brian Horton as the creative director and Cameron Christian as the game director. First unveiled during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, this game is currently in development. It promises players an immersive experience with its blend of emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay. Similar to the critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2, Marvel’s Wolverine aims to deliver a compelling storyline coupled with innovative gameplay, setting the stage for another spectacular entry in Insomniac's Marvel titles.
