Infinity Nikki Gameplay Showcase

To kick off the showcase, the host Neki Matsuzawa, alongside Infinity sub-director Kentaro sub-director Kentaro Tominaga unveiled exciting new gameplay details for Infinity Nikki while introducing both Nikki and their studio. Developed by Infold Games—known for popular titles such as Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice and Love and Deepspace—the Nikki series stands out as their most successful franchise, boasting over 100 million downloads worldwide.

Now, 12 years after the release of the first entry, the fifth generation, Infinity Nikki, aims to push the boundaries even further. This installment focuses on exploration and the collection of wonders. Tominaga highlighted that this is the first open-world game in the Infinity Nikki franchise, combining platforming and exploration elements.

In Infinity Nikki, players will dive into the vibrant world of Miraland, populated with various creatures like fairies and sprites. Alongside her trusty partner, Momo, players will traverse this magical realm, utilizing a collectible item called Whim to create outfits that grant special abilities to stylists.

At the heart of Infinity Nikki is the "Jumping" mechanic, wherein players needs to discover different ways of "Jumping" to explore the world of Miraland. Fantastic creatures such as the Sky Monarch and Seals can lend a hand to players to serve as transports or boost jumps. Moreover, Ability Outfits infused with "Whim" offer several advantages for exploration.

Some of the areas players can explore in Miraland, include Wishfold, Florawish, Stoneville, and the Abandoned District of Stonewood.

New gameplay footage was unveiled, showcasing daily life in Miraland as Nikki explores the vibrant streets of Florawish, highlighting scenic landmarks like the Great Wishing Tree.

Players can enjoy activities such as riding a hot air balloon to float over the city and take in the stunning views. The footage also featured a side quest that involves using the photo mode, which boasts various features, including a lock-on function and the ability to edit photos with filters.

Nikki's trusty companion, Momo, has a unique ability called Momo’s View, allowing her to sniff out Whimstars. These Whimstars often include mini-games, such as collecting small fragments before time runs out.

Additionally, gameplay revealed a new area called Curio-Domain, which features entrances scattered throughout the environment. Players will need to solve different types of puzzle platforming challenges in these areas to earn Whimstars upon completion.

Next, a special challenge area called the Well of Fortune was revealed, set in a sewer-like environment inhabited by creatures known as croakers. The showcase also demonstrated how different outfits grant unique abilities, featuring a segment where Nikki changed into an Electrical Repair Outfit to fix a specific machine.

Daily Life in Miraland

A new trailer was also revealed, highlighting daily life in Miraland and the activities players can enjoy. Some features showcased include a relaxing environment where you can take leisurely walks or listen to the soothing sound of rainfall, cozy new shops, and the impact of weather on goods. Merchants tend to close up early, and you may encounter slightly unusual characters along your journey. Players can fish, catch bugs, groom animals, snack, catch cats, and capture the stunning surroundings.

The Many Outfits of Nikki

Another gameplay segment for Infinity Nikki highlighted the variety of outfits available in Nikki's wardrobe. Players can create all sorts of outfits, with materials obtained by petting animals, which can provide items like feathers and cotton. The segment also featured a flower-catching mini-game where players must collect as many Florapoms as possible before the timer runs out.

Showcasing the outfits' abilities, players can seamlessly switch between different styles, including one that allows Nikki to float on a flower.

The interactive world was demonstrated through gameplay, including riding a giant bird to traverse the landscape and using large plants to reach higher areas.

Lastly, they introduced an area called Ghost Train, filled with monsters, and showcased some of the game's combat mechanics. Players can use a purification outfit to blast away ghosts on the train, adding an exciting combat element to the experience.

Infinity Nikki Giveaway

In addition to the gameplay, the showcase announced an exciting giveaway. To participate, fans need to answer the question about their thoughts on the special program and why they would like to live in Miraland. Interested participants can post their answers on X (Twitter) using the hashtags #InfinityNikki and #InfinityNikkiTGS. One lucky winner will receive a 100,000 yen Amazon gift card, while 20 others will win 10,000 yen Amazon gift cards each.
