Hades 2 recently made its debut in early access, already offering players a grander experience as Melinoe in the Greek myth-inspired world.
Hades 2 Confirms More Content Ahead of Early Access Debut
Hades 2 Major Updates Expected in the Coming Months
While Hades 2 is not yet fully complete, it already boasted more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than its predecessor, Hades 1. With active development having spanned three years already, devs Supergiant Games promised major updates every few months to introduce even more new features and content. "We are looking to release the first of these Major Updates later this year," Supergiant stated on Steam.
Players may encounter points in the game where they reach the end of the current content, but Supergiant Games assured fans that additional regions, cosmetics, main weapons, and weapon aspects are in the works. "Much like our process in the original game, we plan to add new features, characters, powers, environments, and more, while expanding the story and improving the overall experience," Supergiant said. As for transparency, the devs mentioned that they may raise the retail price of Hades 2 at a later point, depending on the game's scope of additional content and duration of Early Access.
While a specific end date for Early Access was not set, the devs confirmed that Hades 2 will remain in this development state throughout 2024. Looking ahead, Supergiant Games announced the upcoming release of a roadmap outlining future updates and milestones for the game. Supergiant likewise confirmed that the full version of Hades 2 shall include a more complete, more polished set of features and content in comparison to the Early Access version, along with Steam Achievements and the true ending to the story.
Even at this point of the game's development phase, Hades 2 is jam-packed with a meddling of old and new mechanics that enables a widely in-depth play style, a new inventory system that assimilates protagonist Melinoe's aggressive magic skills, as well as new and familiar faces along with a myriad of abilities.
