FF7 Rebirth's Brianna White's Take on the FF7 Love Triangle
"Whoever you think is right, is right!"
This week, in an interview with Dan Allen Gaming on YouTube, Briana White, the voice actor for Aerith in both FF7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth, offered her take on the enduring discussion of who Cloud rightfully ends up with romantically. When asked about Cloud's potential love interests, White provided a sensible response.
"I get asked this all the time. Like, who do you ship?" White started. "And to be honest, I know some people think it's a cop-out answer, but it's whoever you think is right, is right! That's the way the game is designed. There's a reason it's an option for you to go on a date with Aerith, or with Tifa, or with neither of them."
She emphasized the essence of RPGs wherein such games afford players agency in determining and interpreting the game's lore. "It's a role playing game. So you, Cloud, the character, the player, get to choose who you like the best," White offered. "And both are correct! All are correct!"

And, true enough, "whoever is right, is right" for the FF7 community, with some shipping mortal enemies, Cloud and Sephiroth, citing their charged tension and 'flirting' in the games.

While others are aboard the Tifa x Aerith ship. Indeed, the compelling portrayal of themes of love and loss in FF7 allows for nuanced perspectives, and more importantly, 'crack ships.'
