EA Sports FC Players Upset After EA Patches Rewards with "Unintended Results"

Top Players were Supposedly Frequently Appearing

The official Twitter (X) account of EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication, dedicated to providing updates on EA Sports FC 24, recently disclosed that they have detected a problem concerning the "Champions Player Pick rewards," resulting in "unintended results." EA has stated that the issue has been rectified in-game, though this news has left fans disheartened.

Each week, as part of EA FC's Weekend League, players engage in challenges for a chance to receive random rewards, including special versions of players like Kylian Mbappe, widely acclaimed as one of the game's best players.

This week, the focus was on the Ligue 1 Team of the Season, offering the opportunity to obtain a special card version of Mbappe and other players. Although EA does not disclose the reward odds of acquiring players, participants noticed an increased occurrence of getting top-tier players like Mbappe.

The news quickly spread within the FC community, prompting EA Sports FC Direct Communications to address and patch the perceived "issue." However, fans wasted no time in expressing their skepticism towards EA's actions. In the community notes below the post created by a user, it’s pointed out that "There may have been a probability issue, but there is no evidence of "unintended rewards" being given out. Mbappe and Dembele are part of Ligue 1 TOTS, so they fit the reward description."

Additionally, there were accusations that EA reduced the chances of receiving top-tier players to incentivize players to spend real money on packs. While this remains speculative, players expressed their discontent with EA's handling of the situation.

One user, @rxckydusa, commented, "You genuinely can't do this," while another, @Piquelme21, stated that "by unintended I think you mean it was giving out too good of players and you wished for users to get worse players."
