Motive Was Not Developing Dead Space 2 Remake

Dead Space 2 Remake Was Never in Consideration

Recent emerging reports suggested that horror sci-fi shooter Dead Space 2 Remake was shelved by EA due to poor sales of the Dead Space remake released last year. However, sources familiar with the matter have revealed that such a project was never even considered by EA and studio Motive.

An EA spokesperson denied the claim to IGN, saying there was "no validity to this story." Following the completion of the Dead Space remake, a team at Motive began brainstorming ideas for a new entry in the series. However, these plans failed to gain momentum and were eventually abandoned, as reported by Bloomberg.

Since last summer, the team has shifted its focus to other developments, while the majority of Dead Space developers have moved on to different projects. It was announced earlier this week that Motive will be shifting its resources to work alongside other EA studios on a new Battlefield project.
