After more than a decade, college football is making a return to gaming! EA just dropped a teaser trailer for one of the most beloved game franchises in sports gaming. Read on to learn more about the trailer and other information on the game.
College Football Returns To Gaming
Coming Summer 2024
It’s been more than a decade since EA’s NCAA Football 14 was released. Since then, fans, including the legendary rap icon Snoop Dogg, have been expressing their longing for another collegiate football game. We haven’t had much information on EA’s new College Football game other than rumors and a lawsuit last year over licensing issues of college football players' names, images, and likenesses (NIL). It’s been so quiet that fans were already wondering whether or not another college football game was even coming. From the surprise trailer-drop, it looks like the licensing issues were sorted out and the game is officially coming soon.
The trailer shows a narrator, sewing up a football jersey in the middle of a stadium. He then explains that College Football 25 is returning for real and that a full reveal is coming this May. The highly anticipated comeback will be released this summer, just in time for the start of the new college football season this August.
The trailer teases that real college stadiums, mascots, and monuments belonging to college teams like the Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners, and more will be present in the game. Last year, EA CEO Andrew Wilson mentioned that they’ve made "incredible progress" amid the licensing issues, and that they’ve already secured licenses for many or most of the NCAA football teams.
The game will be entitled "College Football 25" instead of "NCAA Football 25," since EA is no longer working with the collegiate league this time around.
The burning question in every football fan’s mind is, will this be a college reskin of Madden? We’ll just have to wait until May when more details are released.
