A new game-breaking bug was discovered in DRAGON BALL Sparking! ZERO that deletes in-game saves and progress. Multiple instances of this game-breaking bug have been reported on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Currently, Bandai Namco has no official response regarding the game-breaking issue. To add to this, there aren’t any solutions for those who have gotten their saves wiped and their cloud saves overwritten.

It was first reported a week ago on Reddit, where several users posted that their progress was suddenly gone after turning off their system or quitting the game. Some have also reported that even the cloud saves on their systems have been compromised, leaving users with nothing even after spending additional money and time to play on early access.

Players on both PC and console have reported that their save data has been corrupted after quitting the game, and the latter have also said that they only turned their system off while the game was running. Similarly, this issue has also affected their cloud saves, where the automatic cloud save functionality may overwrite their previous data. Other players have resorted to downloading 100% save files, as it saves them the hassle of spending hours to repeat what you’ve already finished.

Moreover, players have reported that this issue may repeat itself, where their data got corrupted again after trying to recoup their lost progress. With the game getting upwards of 100k players during its early access, players have expressed their frustration on having their progress wiped as well as having to repeat the process of unlocking characters and completing many of the game’s Episode Battles all over again. User Odd_Individual_8332 on Reddit commented, "Same stuff here, 9h gameplay and crash. New save 16h gameplay and crash again. I’m sick about it. 25h for nothing. 140€ (preco 110 + song 30) for this. Bandai plz do something."

Not The Only Issues Here

In addition to the lost progress, there have also been many bugs and issues that players have encountered. Other issues, like Classic controls being bugged in Online Matchmaking, which locks you out of certain skills and options, have also been reported. Xbox players have also reported that there have been issues with the game’s online matchmaking, specifically on connection, crashing, and matchmaking.

Bandai Namco has announced that the game will be undergoing maintenance on all platforms on October 15 at 1:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. JST / 10:00 a.m. CEST and that it will last about 2 hours. Hopefully, these issues will be patched and fixed, most especially the save data bug, before many more players will have their saves wiped.
