Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight Brings the Warlocks to Multiple Entries
Warlocks in Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo: Immortal

Blizzard announced at its 30th Anniversary Diablo Spotlight event that the Warlock class is coming to multiple Diablo titles. The class will be available in Diablo II: Resurrected, the remake of one of the franchise’s most acclaimed entries, as well as in Diablo: Immortal, the mobile installment with light gacha elements. A different Warlock archetype is also set to arrive in the Lord of Hatred DLC for Diablo 4.
The first reveal was Diablo II: Resurrected’s DLC, aptly titled "Reign of the Warlock," and is available to purchase starting today for $24.99. This marks the game’s first new class in more than two decades, bringing the total number of playable classes to eight. Resurrected’s version of the Warlock is a mystic figure who succumbs to corruption and uses forbidden magic to dominate the forces of Hell and bend them to his will.
The Warlock’s gameplay in Resurrected centers on summoning demonic hordes such as the Goatman, Tainted, and the Defiler. Each demon offers unique strengths and weaknesses. While the developers have not detailed their exact abilities, players are encouraged to experiment and shape their own builds. Beyond summoning, the Warlock can also ensnare Hell’s legions and bind them for imminent consumption, empowering himself in the process.

As for Diablo: Immortal’s version of the Warlock, Blizzard describes it on the official website as "brutally powerful and reckless in their destruction." This iteration wields the long-forgotten magic of the Vizjerei, one of the oldest mage clans in Sanctuary, to open portals to Hell and summon and command demons. Unlike Resurrected’s version, where binding and controlling demons is essential, this Warlock simply tears open gateways to unleash its legion. Immortal’s Warlock can also summon the Soulgorger, a massive beast capable of devouring enemies.
Diablo: Immortal’s Warlock is slated to release sometime between April and June 2026, according to the "Nation of Agony" roadmap. The new class will launch alongside the game’s fourth-anniversary event, introducing new content across quests, gear, and expanded PvE challenges.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s Warlock is “Heavy Metal”

Revealed at the tail end of Diablo’s 30th Anniversary Spotlight Event was Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred’s own Warlock, which the developers described as having a "heavy metal" playstyle, armed with its metal chains and flames like Kratos’ Blades in God of War.
It remains unclear whether this version will feature a summoner archetype similar to those in Resurrected and Immortal, but Blizzard has confirmed that a Developer Update focused on the new Warlock class will air on March 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM PT / 2:00 PM ET. The broadcast will stream on Diablo 4’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.

Additional details for the upcoming Lord of Hatred DLC were also unveiled during the showcase, including the new explorable area of Skovos, a sacred site where Inarius and Lilith first brought Sanctuary into existence. Alongside the Warlock and the Skovos map, Blizzard highlighted new endgame activities such as War Plans, a heavily customizable endgame mode, along with reworked skill tree systems for all eight major classes.
Blizzard closed the showcase by thanking its dedicated player base for more than 30 years of Diablo. The presentation ended with a brief tease of what could be another major reveal for the franchise, potentially set for BlizzCon 2026, which will take place on September 12 and 13 in Anaheim, California.
Diablo 4’s Lord of Hatred DLC launches on April 28. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
