⚫︎ Toby Fox announces a two-day livestream event for the 10th anniversary of Undertale and confirms that Deltarune will not likely release in the first half of 2026, noting that the team is still currently in the production phase of development.
According to the developer, the team will still need to work on localization and quality and assessment testing before its full release. "We'll release it when it's done, and we will continue to update you guys on the progress of its completion. Thanks!"

⚫︎ According to new data from Newzoo, Deltarune was the best-selling digital title on the Nintendo Switch 2 in June, surpassing Mario Kart World during the console's launch month. The rankings are based on eShop data from the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.

⚫︎ A new Deltarune update has rolled out across all platforms, bringing bug fixes primarily to Chapters 3 and 4, with a minor fix applied to Chapter 2. Notably, the patch notes conclude with a teaser for future updates, hinting at some extremely slight adjustments to gameplay
on the horizon.
Among the more amusing fixes, an issue where Susie would move incorrectly after a certain battle has been addressed by now having her slide around erroneously
instead. Another Chapter 3 bug involving duplicate or vanishing Ralseis has been “attempted” to be fixed, suggesting some quirks may still linger. More updates are expected soon.

⚫︎ Toby Fox is offering fans a deeper look into the early development of Deltarune by sharing less-edited versions of old concept art and text documents. These materials include lines and ideas that eventually appeared in Chapters 3 and 4, showing that much of the game's story and humor was conceived nearly a decade ago.

⚫︎ Chapter 5 is officially set to release in 2026, according to the closing credits of the newly released Chapter 4. While that’s still a wait, it’s notably shorter than the nearly four years it took to get Chapters 3 and 4 after Chapter 2 launched in 2021. Originally, developer Toby Fox planned to release Chapters 3-5 together, but later decided not to delay the game further just to meet that goal. There’s still no timeline for Chapters 6 and 7, meaning the full story may take several more years to finish.

⚫︎ Deltarune Chapter 3’s new fan-favorite villain, Tenna, was actually conceived by Toby Fox years ago, with some surprisingly wild early ideas. In a recent series of tweets, Fox revealed that he created Tenna back in 2016 and originally intended to animate him using an Xbox Kinect and MikuMikuDance (MMD), a program known for Hatsune Miku dance animations. Both ideas were eventually scrapped.
Fox also experimented with rendering Tenna in a lineless 3D style inspired by Ghost Trick, but that too was abandoned due to poor visual results. Despite these early setbacks, Tenna's final form was a collaborative effort, with Fox crediting several contributors for modeling, animating, designing, and polishing the character.

⚫︎ Deltarune has included a hidden Among Us Easter egg in its latest chapter that caught the attention of fans, and even the developers at Innersloth. In Chapter 4, while exploring Noelle’s house, players can find a closet filled with empty boxes. Susie remarks "gotta admit this room is kinda sus... especially that vent" referencing Among Us. Noelle then says "Haha, nice reference, Susie!
", though thereference flies over Susie’s head.
After players discovered the Easter egg, the Among Us social media team posted an enthusiastic reaction. In response, Deltarune creator Toby Fox jokingly posted fake patch notes claiming he had "removed Among Us" from the game, prompting a playful reply from Innersloth that simply said "RESPECT."

⚫︎ Deltarune has had a busy opening weekend, receiving three hotfix patches in rapid succession after its launch, particularly as one of the major titles for the new Switch 2. The initial patch addressed several common crashes and freezes, such as one occurring in a room with numerous screens, and added a failsafe for rhythm game sections when played without audio input. Another fix removed the ability to enter an unintended empty room, much to the dismay of players who enjoyed its odd charm. Later hotfixes targeted even more stability issues and tweaked a scene from Chapter 4 that had been misinterpreted by some players, enhancing the imagery without altering the intended meaning. Lastly, one update corrected the game’s use of a red cross on a white background, an accidental violation of the Geneva Convention.
June 2
⚫︎ Toby Fox has released a new guide for Deltarune Chapters 1-4, emphasizing non-violent play and introducing Default State saves. The new Default State save system lets players start from any chapter with a preset file, useful for newcomers or those switching platforms. These saves limit items and Castle Town content to encourage full playthroughs. The guide also explains that sparing or pacifying enemies recruits them to Castle Town, unlocking side content, while defeating them with violence boosts stats but removes that content and may alter cutscenes.

⚫︎ Toby Fox has revealed a new rhythm minigame and glam rock outfits for Deltarune Chapter 4. The minigame was first briefly teased in the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer, and Fox hints more minigames may be on the way. In Chapter 4, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei will swap their usual gear for musical instruments and punk-inspired looks in a Rock Band-style minigame.

⚫︎ Toby Fox has revealed a new enemy in Deltarune Chapters 1-4: the Guei, a ghost-type monster obsessed with exercise. In gameplay footage, the Guei exclaimes "We’re ghosts!" in Chinese characters. The use of Chinese isn’t a translation error, Fox confirmed it’s just part of the game’s signature oddball humor. This quirky addition is one of many strange encounters players can expect in Deltarune’s upcoming release.

⚫︎ A few days after the sudden reveal of DELTARUNE, creator Toby Fox took to a twitlonger post to clarify for fans what the game truly is, advising how fans should try to not associate the new game with UNDERTALE, as doing so "&could actually hurt the experience for them." He reassures UNDERTALE fans that both worlds are entirely separate, "Undertale world and ending are the same as however you left them. If everyone was happy in your ending, the people in the Undertale world will still be happy."
