Control Resonant Was Announced at The Game Awards 2025
Releasing 2026

Control Resonant was just revealed at The Game Awards 2025, serving as the "other half" and a fresh entry point into the Control universe. In a PlayStation blog post on December 11, Remedy Entertainment Co-Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen shared more details about the upcoming Control title.
Resonant shifts the focus from Jesse Faden to her brother, Dylan Faden, who is deployed by the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) to confront a new, world-ending paranatural crisis. The game is set in a warped version of Manhattan that has become the battleground for cosmic forces, twisting reality and gravity into unrecognizable shapes.

This sequel adopts an open-ended, open-world action-RPG structure, allowing players to explore expansive city zones, tackle branching missions, and customize Dylan's combat style through a deep progression system. His primary weapon is the Aberrant, a shapeshifting melee tool, which, combined with his unique and volatile supernatural powers, creates fast, physical, and unpredictable combat that the developers promise will be Remedy's most ambitious and complex world yet.
According to Kasurinen, Resonant will continue to adapt Remedy Entertainment's signature storytelling, while also being the studio's biggest game to date. "Our goal with Resonant is to expand what Control can be: a more open, dynamic experience that blends action, exploration, and player choice – all while keeping the mystery, atmosphere, and tension that define Remedy’s storytelling," he stated.
Control Resonant is set to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and is now available for wishlist on the PlayStation Network.
