Civ 7 Adds Apple Arcade to Platforms
Available on February 5, 2026

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Arcade Edition hits Apple Arcade on February 5, 2026. This is the first time the long-running 4X strategy series from Firaxis Games and 2K will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac through Apple’s gaming service.
As with other Apple Arcade titles, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII Arcade Edition requires an active subscription, priced at $6.99 per month or $49.99 annually. Nearly a year after its initial release, the world-building strategy game is now expanding into new territory with a mobile-friendly version.
We at Game8 gave the PS5 version of Civ 7 a score of 90/100, noting that while the game and story were greatly enjoyable, we felt that it "sacrifices what made the previous entry so enjoyable in favor of grander ambitions and an influx of new content." This edition aims to preserve much of the depth found in the PC and console versions, including empire management and long-term strategic planning.
As part of Apple Arcade’s expanding catalog, Civilization VII Arcade Edition will be available to subscribers without ads or in-app purchases. This edition will launch without multiplayer or DLC support, and future updates adding these features have yet to be confirmed by the developers.
The game supports touch controls on mobile devices, with optional mouse and controller input available on compatible hardware. Players can manage diplomacy, command armies, construct wonders, and guide their civilization’s development throughout history.
Arcade Edition Gets Mixed Reception

The announcement has prompted varied reactions on X (Twitter). While some players welcomed the mobile release, others still raised concerns regarding the original game’s current state, hoping for more improvements.
Users expressed that they would have preferred the developers to have instead focused on fixing issues in the main game’s current state. With technical bugs to be addressed and the game’s tendency to crash, fans still await the game’s further polishing.

Discussion has also extended to Apple Arcade itself, with some players viewing the subscription as a convenient way to access games across devices. Meanwhile, others remain uncertain about paying for the online service since the game is looking to be a slightly simplified version of the original.
