Call of Duty MW3 Has More Hours Per Player Overall than MW 2019 and MW2
The official Call of Duty X (Twitter) account just tweeted that in only two weeks, MW3 has already set engagement records in the Modern Warfare franchise. According to the tweet, the game boasted more hours per player overall than MW 2019 and MW2.
Players are also spending more time in the campaign in comparison to the previous two MW games, which is kind of strange since the campaign is really short in MW3. Finally, Modern Warfare Zombies, the first zombies mode in a Modern Warfare game, is the most engaging third mode (Campaign and Multiplayer being the first two) in Modern Warfare history.
This comes as a surprise to many, considering how this entry has been slammed by critics and players alike. This isn’t the first time a COD game got destroyed by critics, but still managed to pick up engagements. In 2016, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was ridiculously controversial, due to the game sticking with the futuristic setting when fans were sick of it and wanted something realistic. The trailer garnered over three million dislikes on Youtube.
Despite that, the game was the bestseller that year, outselling games of the same genre with much higher ratings, like Battlefield 1. With these in mind, it’s safe to say that despite the harsh reviews, people still purchase and have fun with the latest Call of Duty games, regardless of backlash.
CoD MW3 Double XP Weekend in Celebration of New Records
In celebration of the new records and milestones, all CoD MW3 games played this weekend will feature Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass XP. The tweet then ends with a short sentence hyping up Season 1 of MW3, which is coming on December 6 with new maps, a ton of content, and more.
