Battlefield 6’s second open beta weekend is riddled with several issues, and EA is working around the clock to resolve them. Read on to learn more about the concerns fans have with the open beta and what the second open beta weekend features.
Battlefield 6 Second Open Beta Weekend Bugs and Concerns
Long Matchmaking Times and Unavailable DLSS/DLAA

Battlefield 6 had a successful opening beta weekend last week and has now entered its second open beta weekend. Unfortunately, the game is currently facing several issues, including long matchmaking times and the exclusion of DLSS/DLAA. Fans have expressed their concerns about these problems over at several subreddits, and developer EA has already acknowledged them.
In a post on Battlefield’s official Reddit page on August 14, the development team is consistently updating the community regarding their fixes for the ongoing issues. This includes reports of DLSS / DLAA being unavailable in the Open Beta.
These updates are also being relayed on Twitter (X) under Battlefield Comms, the official account of Battlefield’s community team. According to their recent thread of posts, they do not have an exact ETA for when this issue will be fixed, but are aiming to have it resolved later today.
Another issue that fans are currently facing is long matchmaking queues and getting error messages when attempting to matchmake on playlists. EA is investigating this and working towards a fix as soon as possible.
They have also suggested a quick fix in the meantime by reminding fans to have the most recent client update and using the client’s repair functionality. However, some players are still experiencing the same issues despite the dev team’s instructions.

These problems are somewhat to be expected, given that the game is still in beta and almost 400,000 players are currently playing the game based on its SteamDB charts. Although this is the case, fans are still disappointed by the numerous issues the open beta has, while some even suggest adding another day for the second open beta weekend.
Aside from these, Battlefield 6 looks promising so far, as the problems plaguing the game can be easily resolved before its launch. Check out our article below to know more about our thoughts on Battlefield 6’s open beta.
Cheaters Remain Rampant
Despite EA’s efforts to combat cheaters via the Javelin anti-cheat system, many are still making their way to the open beta. In a Twitter (X) post on August 8, user ItsHapa shared a video that shows a player using wallhacks, making other players visible even when hidden behind walls.
DICE Producer Alexia Christofi commented on the post, stating that the devs are aware of the said cheater and have already banned them from the game. Some are even wondering whether EA’s anti-cheat system is active during the open beta, given that cheaters are using the same methods for cheating.
EA’s Javelin Anti-Cheat is indeed in full effect for Battlefield 6’s open beta, as it has done well in preventing and combating cheating. As reported by AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team on EA Forums on August 8, Javelin has prevented over 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls and received 44,000 instances of potential cheaters.
Javelin Anti-Cheat Compatibility Concerns With Riot Vanguard

The kernel-level anti-cheat system in and of itself is somewhat a point of contention in the community since it has the highest level of access to PCs. However, many multiplayer games are already implementing or planning to implement this feature, with the most recent one being Call of Duty Black Ops 7 requiring TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot to play the game.
Meanwhile, Riot Games is also using the same type of anti-cheat with Riot Vanguard for League of Legends and Valorant. Oddly enough, it seems that EA’s Javelin and Riot’s Vanguard are clashing in players’ systems.

As posted on Battlefield’s subreddit on August 10, user AnAveragePlayer reported that Battlefield 6 is unable to start due to a software conflict. This software was identified as Valorant, and the application requires them to uninstall the game or adjust its settings.
The community had a laugh with the situation, with some comments such as "Good, the world is healing" and "Basedfield 6" being the prominent ones. It is currently unclear why these anti-cheat systems cannot function simultaneously, and fans are curious what’s with Riot Vanguard specifically that is preventing Battlefield 6 from opening.
In light of this, Riot Games’ Head of Anti-Cheat Phillip Koskinas tweeted on August 12 to clarify that Vanguard is indeed compatible with Javelin. He stated that players do not need to uninstall one over the other.
Koskinas explained, "However, BF6 does not currently allow the VALORANT client to be running simultaneously, because both drivers race to protect regions of game memory with the same technique." This means that players would just have to disable Vanguard when attempting to open Battlefield 6 for the game to work.
Open Beta Weekend 2 Includes New Map and Modes

Although the open beta is plagued with several issues, fans are still geared up for its second weekend. Battlefield 6’s second open beta weekend began on August 14 and will last until August 17. It introduced a new map and several modes on top of the existing ones available from the first weekend.
Players will now get the chance to play in the new map called "Empire State," adding to the game’s map rotation which included "Iberian Offensive," "Liberation Peak," and "Siege of Cairo." Moreover, two new modes are added to the mix with "Rush" and "Squade Deatmach," opening up for new ways of experiencing the game.
With all the buzz generated from the Open Beta, it’s safe to say that EA is on track to have a successful launch of their flagship first-person shooter. Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games, and EA App. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below!
