ARC Raiders updates its Expedition system for the upcoming second event, lowering progression requirements and adding a catch-up mechanic for missed points—here’s what players need to know before the next departure.
ARC Raiders Second Expedition Changes Explained
Lower Requirements And Catch-Up System Added

ARC Raiders detailed changes to its second Expedition in an official blog post published on February 5, outlining reduced stash-value requirements and a new catch-up system for players who missed skill points during the first run. Sign-ups open on February 25, with the Expedition departing on March 1.
The second Expedition brings two changes aimed at making progression more undemanding. First, the total stash value required to earn all five Expedition skill points has been lowered to 3 million coins, or 600,000 coins per skill point. Previously, players needed to contribute 5 million coins to reach the maximum reward during the first Expedition. In the blog post, Embark writes, "We’ve heard your feedback about the required Stash value for maximum rewards being too high, and have decided to lower the requirement…". The maximum reward remains five skill points.

Second, a catch-up mechanic is now available for players who did not earn all available skill points during the first Expedition. Missed points can now be reclaimed during the second Expedition at a reduced cost of 300,000 coins per skill point. When departing, contributed coins are counted toward the second Expedition’s skill point progression first, then towards missing skill points from the previous run. However, Embark reminds that rewards, requirements, and bonus skill points may change in future Expeditions.
Expedition Rewards

Players joining an Expedition for the first time will receive the rewards from the first Expedition, while those who continue to depart will earn additional stash space and skill points. Permanent bonuses unlocked in previous Expeditions will be retained even if they do not depart again.
Players embarking on their second Expedition also unlock expanded cosmetic options, including four additional toggles and two new color variants for the Patchwork outfit, a new Scrappy outfit, and an upgraded Expedition Indicator icon that improves with each Expedition completed. Buffs like XP boost, Scrappy materials boost, and repair value increase will continue to stack for players who keep departing consecutively but are reset for those who decide to skip.
The Expedition does not affect the Trophy Display Project, cosmetics, Raider Deck progress, unlocked map regions, leaderboard placement, Trials, Codex entries, or Raider Tokens.

The Expedition Project was first introduced by Embark in October 2025, where Virgil Watkins, the design director for ARC Raiders, described it as a voluntary alternative to mandatory wipes. Rather than enforcing regular progression resets, the system allows players to opt into an Expedition if they want a fresh start, while retaining permanent, account-level progress such as cosmetics and other long-term unlocks. Virgil explained that the goal was to balance the benefits of a reset with respect for players’ time investment, particularly for those who may not want or be able to restart progression repeatedly
ARC Raiders is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. For more information on the game, check out our related article below.
