Gamescom Opening Night Live Game Updates
Starfield
Starfield revealed a live-action trailer after the live performance by Inon Zur, the composer of Starfield's soundtrack. The trailer showed different environments, characters, and the different activities players may do within the game. Starfield will be available on September 6, 2023, with Early Access available on September 1, 2023.
Black Myth Wukong
Black Myth Wukong, first met with much hype and positive reception back in 2020, showed a video with brand-new gameplay. The trailer started off with a musician with no head and eventually led to a showcase of many boss fights with mythical beasts fought by the titular Monkey King.
Age of Empires IV
For its anniversary, Age of Empires IV will now be available for Xbox consoles starting August 22, 2023.
Payday 3
Payday 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter initially set to be released in 2020, but had been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trailer at Gamescom showed some beta gameplay footage, ending with a reveal that it will be launching on September 21, 2023.
Assassin's Creed Mirage
The trailer showcased the game's environment and characters, as well as some of the cinematics. Interestingly, the trailer has Arabic voice acting with English subtitles, giving it an air of authenticity, since the game is set in 9th-century Baghdad. Assassin's Creed Mirage will be out on October 5, 2023.
Tekken 8
Headed by Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken 8 will have a new single-player game mode that focuses on the player called Arcade Quest. Tekken 8 will also have customization with the players' avatars and character costumes. It will be released on January 26, 2024.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be out on November 10, 2023. It is the much-anticipated direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2, featuring open-combat missions, hordes of zombies, and the return of protagonist Captain John Price to stop Vladimir Makarov, the leader of the terrorist organization known as the Russian Ultranationalists.
Nightingale
Nightingale is a shared-world survival crafting game where players venture through portals to explore a variety of fantastical realism. It will be available for early access starting February 22, 2024.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Granblue Fantasy: Relink showcased fast-paced primal beast boss fights. The game will be released for PS5, PS4, and Windows on February 1, 2024. Pre-orders begin on August 23, 2AM CEST.
Zenless Zone Zero
Mihoyo's Zhenyu Li came to Gamescom to show a Zenless Zone Zero trailer, showcasing the game's urban environments, characters, and game mechanics.
Honkai Star Rail
Following Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai Star Rail's trailer showcased the characters of Xianzhou. PlayStation 5 Technical Test Recruitment will also start on August 23, 2023, at 10 AM UTC+8.
Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact just released their 5th nation, Fontaine. The trailer showcased its environment, gameplay, characters, and an announcement for the Genshin Concert, called Melodies of an Endless Journey.
Sonic Superstars
Sonic Superstars showcased gameplay and non-gameplay footage for their trailer on Gamescom. Players can play with 3 more friends in a co-op or take the gaming online in a free-for-all Battle mode. The game will be arriving on October 17, 2023.
Sonic Frontiers
Following the update for Sonic Superstars, Sonic Frontiers reveals The Final Horizon Update, which will include a new story, new playable characters, and new challenges that await the players. This free update will be available on September 28, 2023.
The Crew: Motorfest
The Crew: Motorfest, an upcoming racing game set in fictional Hawaii, will be released on September 14, 2023. The trailer showed off its open-world features and the different vehicles players can use to race. The game will also be opening for a free demo period from September 14 - 17, where players will be able to try the full game for 5 hours on all platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC
Cyberpunk 2077 revealed its Phantom Liberty World Premier trailer at Gamescom 2023. It showcased new gameplay, powerful weapons, redesigned cyberwar and perks, a relic skill tree, and other exciting new features. This DLC will be available on September 26, 2023. Pre-orders are now available.
Last Epoch
Last Epoch, an upcoming action RPG set in the fantasy world of Eterra, reveals its Runemaster class and announces its September 7, 2023 launch date.
Marvel Snap
The virtual card game, Marvel Snap, will be available on PC via Steam starting today. The trailer also features many Mutiversal mash-ups of fan-favorite Marvel Heroes.
Mortal Kombat 1
Mortal Kombat 1 revealed General Shao and Queen Sindel as playable characters and Motaro and Shujinko as two new Kameo characters.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4's season 2: Season of Blood will launch on October 17, 2023, with 5 new endgame bosses, a new storyline, and new vampiric powers.
Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 features a blend of live-action cutscenes and third-person gameplay to set up the game's events 13 years after Wake's disappearance. The game will be released on October 27, 2023.

Little Nightmares 3
Little Nightmares 3 will launch with 2 new characters, so players can play either single-player or online co-op.
Killing Floor 3
Killing Floor 3 showed a gory trailer in Gamescom ONL. No release date was revealed, but it will be coming to Steam, PS5, Epic Games, and Xbox Series X|S.
Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is an upcoming action RPG developed and published by Pearl Abyss. It showed an updated gameplay trailer where players take control of Macduff, a mercenary trying to survive a war-torn land. An exact release date has yet to be announced but It is set to be released in 2023.
Rebel Moon
Rebel Moon will be launching a movie via Netflix directed by Zack Snyder. Rebel Moon will be split into two parts: the first will be available on December 22, and the second will be released on April 19, 2024. Zack Snyder also confirmed that a video game for Rebel Moon is also in development and will canonically take place a few years after the two movies.
Lords of the Fallen
Lords of the Fallen showcased extended gameplay and cinematic scenes that happened in the game. It will be available on October 13, 2023, and is open for pre-order today.
Immortals of Aveum
Immortals of Aveum showed its official launch trailer as it releases on August 22, 2023.
First Descendant
First Descendant, a third-person co-op action RPG shooter, launched its reveal trailer at Gamescom, showcasing the upcoming Crossplay Open Beta from September 19 until September 25, 2023.
Under the Waves
Under the Waves, first revealed in Gamescom 2022, is set to be released on August 29, 2023. Pre-orders are available now.
Fort Solis
Fort Solis is an indie psychological thriller that Fallen Leaf and Dear Villagers developed. Troy Baker, Roger Clark, and Julia Brown, the actors featured in Fort Solis, presented the game's launch trailer at Gamescom 2023. Fort Solis is available on August 22, 2023.
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is an upcoming off-road simulation video game set in a vast wilderness where players take control of a team of explorers as they drive various all-terrain vehicles. This game is scheduled to be released in 2024.
Stormgate
Stormgate is a free-to-play real-time strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans and an ancient race of warriors called the Infernals are locked in a conflict to control the galaxy. The trailer revealed the Infernal Host faction and the collaboration with the band the Chainsmokers for their soundtrack. This game is scheduled to be released in 2023.
Armored Core 6
From the developers of Eldin Ring and the Dark Souls series, Armored Core 6, the latest title in FromSoftware’s long running mecha fighting series will launch on August 25, 2023, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
Warhaven
Warhaven revealed a 90-second trailer at Gamescom 2023, announcing that the game will launch on September 21, 2023.
Ara: History Untold
Ara: History Untold reveals its gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2023. In this game, you build civilizations and lead the people to change the world, with great historical figures at the helm. This game is scheduled to be released in 2024.
Dustborn
Dustborn is an upcoming action-adventure set to be released in 2023. Players take the role of Pax,a person with the ability to weaponize language, otherwise known in the game as an Animal. This game will feature a unique combat system that uses words to attack and defend themselves.
Thank Goodness, You're Here
Thank Goodness, You're Here is an upcoming comedy slapstick game. It is scheduled to be released sometime in 2023 for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and PS5.
