Xbox Announced Library of 1300+ Classic Games and 600 Mini Game Challenges
In a post on Xbox Wire, Xbox announced that Antstream Arcade will be bringing its vast catalog of officially licensed retro arcade games to the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Games such as Renegade, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, Highway Fighter, even indie retro games, and more can be streamed directly on your Xbox console, making these beloved classics officially available to play on modern gaming hardware. Antstream Arcade shared that games which were exclusively playable on Sony or Nintendo platforms will also become playable on Xbox through its streaming service.
Global Leaderboard, Challenges, and Tournaments Will Also Be Available
The partnership between the streaming platform and video game company lets players experience these classic games in a new way by including more interactivity within the community using challenges and tournaments.
Antstream Arcade said they are promoting the longevity of these classic games with a unique challenge system. The games are said to be back-engineered to create a competitive system which allows players to experience new game modes such as 'one-life challenges' and 'Giant Slayer,' wherein a player sets up a challenge, presents it to other players, and beat challengers for kudos and gems.
Furthermore, in an effort to keep their gaming community constantly engaged and involved in the product, Anstream Arcade and the Xbox team announced that tournaments will be featured, as well as a global leaderboard and other community challenges.
