World of Warcraft Shakes Things Up for Players in Latest Patch Fractures in Time

    Image

World of Warcraft introduces new ways of playing the game, with a new megadungeon that also brings new plot lines, a new support-damage class specialization, and a whole lot more in this spacetime-bending expansion.

Fractures in Time Introduces New Ways of Playing the Game

New Megadungeon Brings A Story Into Light

    Image
The new megadungeon, Dawn of the Infinite, not only offers a new place to explore and conquer, it also pushes a new storyline involving the time traveling antagonists called the Infinite Dragonflight, their leader Murozond, a major antagonist described to exist outside of time, and lastly, Nozdormu, the guardian of time fated to eventually become Murozond.

In the history of World of Warcraft, in a future timeline, Nozdormu is corrupted by the Old Gods, falls into madness, transforms into Murozond, and creates the Infinite Dragonflight to destroy the only true timeline to usher in the Hour of Twilight. His transformation into Murozond is specifically caused by the shattering of the timeways. The Old Gods showed Nozdormu his death, corrupted him, and made him shatter the timeways to supposedly prevent his death. This ultimately leads to his transformation into Murozond.

In Dawn of the Infinite, players must push back against the Infinite Dragonflight's efforts and save Nozdormu from getting further corrupted and completing his final transformation into Murozond.

Iridikron is Seen Scheming in the Background

Players will also come across Iridikron in the new megadungeon. Iridikron is one of the Primal Incarnates, a group of four ancient proto-dragons who refused the gift of the Titans and stood opposed to dragonkind.

Iridikron, the Primal Incarnate of Earth, as well as the first and most powerful of the Primal Incarnates, serves as the main antagonist of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. It is revealed that Iridikron has not put a stop to his plans as he is seen scheming in the background in the frozen expanse of Northrend, seemingly having joined forces with the Infinite Dragonflight. More can be uncovered as players go through the new megadungeon.

New Evoker Specialization Shakes The Game Up

    Image
In the Fractures in Time patch, a new Evoker Specialization has also been added called Augmentation. Augmentation is introduced as a support-damage specialization, with abilities to imbue allies with the might of the Black dragons, and to bend time and fate to ones favor using Bronze magic.

This new Evoker Specialization has been designed around helping you and your allies hit harder and kill faster. Blizzard Senior Game Designer, Graham Berger, tells Polygon in an interview: “It’s for an audience that isn’t especially served by any of our existing specializations. We made Augmentation able to solo by making them pretty tanky and survivable. You can apply skills to yourself to give yourself more armor, you have defensive capabilities, and you can still deal damage.”

    Time Rifts Events

    Image
A new public event is also coming in the form of Time Rifts. These rifts start to appear throughout the Dragon Isles as the timelines remain tampered with by the Infinite Dragonflights. These Time Rifts need to be investigated and players must fight off alternate versions of invaders from Azeroth.

    Whelp Daycare

    Image
The game also has new questlines and daily activities with the Whelp Daycare. Players can help the daycare by cleaning up the area, help provide materials and food needed in habitats, and help make sure these whelps turn into awesome dragons.

There are five whelps to meet. Players can get to know each one of them, its needs, history, and will eventually be able to unlock them as battle pets.

    Kalimdor Cup

    Image
The Kalimdor Cup is a dragon-racing event. Players can find dragon-racing events throughout most parts of the Kalimdor zones. There will be three options for each racetrack, namely: Standard, Advanced, and Reverse.

Players can also earn Riders of Azeroth badges in these racing events. These badges can be used to unlock new dragonriding customization options by trading them in to a new vendor in Valdrakken.

Warlock Class Updates Explores New Races and Class Combos

    Image
Fractures in Time will be giving players new combinations of races and classes to explore. Every race in the game, with the exception of Dracthyr, can now be played using the Warlock class which is a class of spellcasting damage-dealers that use a wide range of debuffs and damage buffs.

Warlocks are also given new customization options for their pets, including new color schemes and model options, which can be unlocked using grimoires from Special Warlock questlines.

Fractures in Time also has a list of other changes in its already-packed patch update. This includes:
