A glance at Electronic Art's job postings on GR8 People, an online recruitment platform, shows that the company is hiring new talent for "Star Wars Jedi." Recalling the Star Wars Jedi Survivor director, Stig Asmussen, interview with IGN hints at what the company may be up to: a possible third game to the Star Wars Jedi series.

"I always wanted to see this as a trilogy," he mentioned. "How can we take Cal and the crew to new places beyond what we were doing in the first game?"

Job openings include Principal Game Writer, Senior VFX Artist, and Audio Engineer, all with the label that they will be working on a Star Wars Jedi game. One particular bit of information that seems to gives the sequel away is that Asmussen mentioned that the third game would likely be built on Unreal Engine 5 rather than on Unreal Engine 4, the engine used to make Star Wars Jedi Survivor. And what's listed on the job posting for the Senior VFX Artist? That's right: "Experience with Unreal Engine 5 is a big plus."

"I'm not going to say it's going to be easy. I mean, we have a lot of proprietary things that we've warped the engine into doing what it does for Jedi right now, and we would have to retool some of that to get it to work on any new engine."

It makes sense that hiring a new team for the third game is being done at a time that's relatively close to Star Wars Jedi Survivor's launch; they will need all the time they can get to wrestle with the new engine.

With at least two more Star Wars games being developed by Respawn, confirmed to be a first-person shooter and a strategy game, fans of the games will have many things to look forward to.
