Capcom is enjoying a successful year with the releases of Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4. While their recent Capcom Showcase disappointed some fans due to the absence any significant game announcements, the company has hinted at plans to revive their older franchises.

During the 44th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, Capcom briefly addressed investor inquiries about the future of certain series, such as Monster Hunter, Toraware no Paruma, Sengoku Basara, Onimusha, and the beloved Megaman. While details were scarce, Capcom's response indicated that discussions are underway to explore the future expansion of these titles. This broad statement is promising, as it suggests Capcom's intention to revive multiple franchises simultaneously rather than focusing solely on one.

Several of these franchises have not seen a release in recent years. Onimusha, for example, last saw a game release in 2006. The game is known for its action-adventure gameplay, delving into Japan's rich history and incorporating supernatural elements into the narrative.

Sengoku Basara had its latest game released in 2015. This game took a unique and refreshing approach to historical events and the warlords of Japan's Warring States period. Toraware no Paruma, a romance adventure game, first launched in Japan in August 2016 for Android and iOS devices, followed by a Nintendo Switch release in August 2019.

The biggest exception to all of these is Monster Hunter, which already has additional titles in development, emphasizing Capcom's commitment to expanding the series. Acknowledging discussions surrounding these titles' future expansion brings hope to fans eager for new installments or remakes.

During the Q&A, Capcom was also asked about their plans for the beloved Megaman series. Capcom acknowledged Megaman's status as one of their historic IPs, cherished by fans worldwide.

They expressed their commitment to carefully developing the series, considering various factors such as solid concepts, innovative gameplay ideas, and overall production. While specifics were not provided, the response suggests that Capcom recognizes the significance of Megaman and intends to approach its future development with care and precision.
