Discontinues Early Access
In a surprising turn of events, Square Enix has officially announced the cancellation of Just Cause Mobile, and the early access version of the game has been removed from digital stores.
Just Cause Global Brand Lead Anne-Lou Grosbois-Favreau expressed deep regret over the decision, acknowledging the disappointment it may bring to the fans who were eagerly anticipating the game's release. The company reassured players that made any in-app purchases during the Regional Early Access period have been fully refunded to their Google Play accounts as of February 24, 2023.
Square Enix has taken several actions to remove the game from the public domain as part of the cancellation. Just Cause Mobile's official website and social media accounts have been disabled, making only the Google Play page available. Even on the Google Play page, however, the download button has been turned off, making it impossible to install the early access version.
While Square Enix has yet to disclose the specific reasons behind the cancellation, it is common for game development projects to face challenges that can ultimately lead to such decisions. Factors like technical difficulties, financial constraints, or creative differences may have contributed to the discontinuation of Just Cause Mobile.
What Is Just Cause Mobile?
Just Cause Mobile was poised to bring the beloved action-shooter franchise to mobile platforms, offering players an immersive free-to-play experience. The game boasted four distinct modes, high-quality 3D graphics, responsive touch controls, a unique move system, voice chat functionality, and high-octane gameplay.
For fans eagerly awaiting the release of Just Cause Mobile, this news is undoubtedly disappointing. However, the gaming industry is known for its ups and downs, and cancellations are an unfortunate inevitablity. Despite this setback, players can still look forward to other exciting releases from Square Enix.
