In an interview with gaming website Game Watch, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer stated that they don’t plan on making Xbox Game Pass exclusives. Spencer assured players that they will not be forced to subscribe to the gaming service to get their hands on games.

He stressed that Xbox’s goal is to share a wide range of games and enable their customers to play the games they want, anywhere they want. "What we want to offer is choice. Xbox isn't just about Xbox Game Pass. The real success of Xbox is that more people play Xbox, whether it's on Xbox consoles, on PC, in the cloud, or on other consoles", said Spencer.

Spencer shared more on their plans for Xbox Game Pass, and noted the good performance of Xbox Game Pass, notably during the release of Starfield. The next strategy for them is to continue launching and introducing bigger game titles to Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox VP Sarah Bond has previously shared that they intend to partner up with big names like Square Enix and bring more of their games to Xbox players around the world. The company continues its efforts of attracting more players, and Spencer explained that Xbox Game Pass is a way to achieve their goal of creating a wider and stronger Xbox community.
