Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut is the definitive edition of the critically acclaimed Yakuza 0, and is set to release on the Nintendo Switch 2 as a launch title on June 5, 2025.
This updated version of the original game comes with new cutscenes that give deeper insight into key events in the series as well as character backstories, a new English voiceover, online multiplayer battle mode, as well as new combat styles and side quests to experience in the Tokyo and Osaka entertainment districts.
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Gameplay
Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut appears to follow upon its predecessors, letting players "fight like hell through Tokyo and Osaka" as Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. Players can switch between three different fighting styles in this adrenaline-pumping fight-for-all, even using environmental objects such as bicycles, sign posts, and statues to come out on top.
Fighting’s not the only way to enjoy 80s Japan—from discos, hostess clubs, karaokes, and even arcades, there are a plethora of things to do in this glitzy, glamorous world.
Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Characters
Kazuma Kiryu
Kiryu is a member of the all-powerful Dojima Family, a high-tier yakuza organization under the Tojo Clan. Raised at the Sunflower Orphanage by Dojima Family captain Shintaro Kazama, he swore allegiance to the organization at an early age. While hunting down an overdue debt, his mark ends up murdered, and he then sets out to clear his name from being a murder suspect.
Goro Majima
Previously a member of the Tojo Clan, he was tortured and cast out after defying a direct order from his superiors. Now kicked to the curb and forced to live out a civilian life, he made his way up and now managed the Grand Cabaret…until he is assigned a dark mission that guarantees his return to the clan.
