Wanderstop Overview
Wanderstop is a narrative-heavy simulation game being by Ivy Road and Annapurna Interactive under the direction of the creator of The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide. It centers on the life of Alta, a fallen fighter who spends her days managing a quaint tea shop in the middle of an out-of-the-way magical forest. Players are invited to immerse themselves in its cafe management simulator where they must learn how to brew a good cup of tea using a mix of different ingredients, serve it to customers, and perform related chores such as cleaning, decorating, and gardening.
The game was announced on June of 2024 during the Summer Game Fest of that year. It was initially slated for release within the latter half of 2024, but was eventually delayed to March 11, 2025.
Wanderstop Gameplay
Wanderstop is a cafe management sim where you’ll master the art of brewing tea by mixing ingredients, serving customers, and handling daily tasks like cleaning, decorating, and gardening. As Alta, a former warrior now reluctantly running a teashop in the forest, you'll juggle fulfilling orders while grappling with existential uncertainty. Alongside your companion, Boro, you’ll settle into this slower-paced life—whether you like it or not.
During quiet moments, you can tidy up the clearing, personalize the shop with decorations, or simply sit with a cup of tea, lost in thought. Sometimes, doing nothing at all is enough. This teashop isn’t about rushing forward—it rewards patience and turns away those who seek only endless progress.
