Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Overview
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is the upcoming remake of the original 2006 role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game currently has no official release date, but a financial report from Falcom states that they plan to release the game worldwide on multiple platforms by September 2026. No platforms were confirmed in this report, but they will presumably be released on the Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 like Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
Set again in the kingdom of Liberl, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter would pick up from the ending of the first game with Joshua’s disappearance. Estelle sets forth on a journey to bring him home, gaining allies and fighting foes from the shadows.
While no gameplay has been revealed for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, it is expected to also introduce several enhancements to the original’s mechanics and systems. Much like the remake of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, it is also likely to recreate the Liberl Kingdom in full 3D with updated visuals and character models. It is currently unknown whether other changes to the combat system will be carried over, but we’ll be sure to update this as more information becomes available!

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Gameplay
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will presumably preserve the original game’s core gameplay mechanics, along with incorporating modern enhancements. Overhauls from the Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will presumably carry over, like the hybrid system, which lets players seamlessly transition between Field Action (real-time action) and Command Battle (turn-based) modes.
Judging from the game’s teaser seen in Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter remake will also be fully 3D with refined character models and updated visuals. With no official gameplay for the game as of this writing, we’ll be sure to update this as more information is available!
