Total War: WARHAMMER 40000 is an upcoming real-time strategy game developed by Creative Assembly, the studio behind the acclaimed Total War series for the past two decades. Set in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium, the game places players in control of distinct factions ranging from the mighty Space Marines to the brutish Orks. The game follows the 4X formula—explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate—granting them the freedom to approach the battlefield with a variety of tactics.
Similar to other games in the franchise, Total War: WARHAMMER 40000 will have the player manage their faction’s territory, amass troops, and deploy them to fight for resources, diplomatically resolve issues, and crush opposing armies to ultimately defeat the enemy team.

Total War: WARHAMMER 40000 will revolve around managing territories and raising armies on a galactic scale. The game blends turn-based strategy with real-time tactical battles in a vast sandbox where players capture planets and upgrade fleets.
At launch, players can choose from four confirmed factions—Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, and Aeldari—as they form alliances, customize their warbands with unique heraldry, and battle for dominance across the stars. It will be the first mainline entry in the series to debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S alongside PC.
