⚫︎ Hotta Studio published a post-mortem report of the NTE Containment Test. Here, they detailed many of the improvements that the game will be receiving: "Audiovisual Enhancements, Gameplay, System & Performance Improvements, and Future Content Planning."
⚫︎ The NTE Containment Test started on July 3, 2025, and runs through July 16, 2025. This introduces a range of improvements from previous tests, such as improved visuals, new mechanics, racing content, and reworked combat.

Neverness to Everness Overview
Neverness to Everness (NTE) is an upcoming open-world action RPG slated for release across PC, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS. Developed by Hotta Studio (a subsidiary of Perfect World Games, who previously published Persona 5: The Phantom X in China and Korea) and built on Unreal Engine 5, it’s the studio’s next major title following Tower of Fantasy
In Hethereau, an urban metropolis where everyday life is interspersed with supernatural events known as Anomalies, you, the player, become an Appraiser who works through the antique shop Eibon to investigate, neutralize, and "contain" these Anomalies. This world teems with surreal encounters, from TV-headed otters to night-skate graffiti artists.
Much like other gacha games in the market, it is a third-person action game with real-time character swapping, which allows players to build synergistic combos using Esper abilities marked by an Esper Cycle system. However, a defining feature of NTE is its extensive life simulation systems, where players can customize vehicles and purchase homes.

Neverness to Everness Gameplay
Neverness to Everness uses a third-person action-RPG combat system centered on real-time combos and the Esper abilities. Players build a four-character team on the battlefield and chain normal attacks, skills, and ultimates while swapping characters mid-combo. The Esper Cycle mechanic enhances this further. Here, players use character-specific Esper abilities and skill combos to infuse enemies with attributes. When two adjacent attributes on a cycle combine, they trigger synergies, which are somewhat similar to the elemental reactions seen in Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Additionally, enemies have a stagger bar that, once filled, puts them in a vulnerable state that increases the damage they take.
NTE has an open-world, the city of Hethereau. Players can traverse this place on foot, via public transit, or in vehicles. These are cars and motorcycles that players can customize in appearance and performance. However, players can also climb and wall-run on buildings, all governed by a stamina bar. Vehicle driving is impacted by variables like weather, with realistic handling and traffic AI.
Players can equip characters with KongMu gear, consisting of two disks and four drive blocks, that impart randomized main and secondary attributes. Equipment and weapons are obtained through defeating enemies, completing missions, or purchasing, with higher-tier items upgradeable via in-game resources.
