Venture to the Vile Story Plot
Run and jump through the salt-sprayed streets of Rainybrook, now infested by monstrous minions of a mysterious entity called the "Vile". Uncover secrets about Rainybrook and figure out what the Vile did to your lost friend Ella. Will you lose your humanity in the process, or will Rainybrook finally be freed from the grip of the Vile?
Venture to the Vile Gameplay
Venture to the Vile’s gameplay is rather similar to Little Nightmares—another 2.5D sidescrolling platformer with eldritch abominations. Much of the game’s allure comes from its creative implementation of platforming and its dynamic day and night cycle, the latter of which may affect the former by changing what enemies you encounter and what platforming areas are available depending on the time of day.
An upgrade and progression system was also alluded to in the game’s description, potentially sacrificing your humanity for more effective upgrades. The details on the progression system are scarce at the moment, although players may choose to explore Rainybrook and do sidequests for the odd townsperson to similar effect.
The game also promises multiple endings made available based on your progression, choosing between helping the people of Rainybrook and venturing out to discover the seaside town’s mysteries.
